Authentic Vintage Romanian Folk Costume from Mărginimea Sibiului – Hand-Embroidered, Excellent Condition

This is a rare and authentic vintage Romanian folk costume originating from the renowned ethnographic region of Mărginimea Sibiului, Transylvania. Carefully preserved and in excellent condition for its age, this four-piece set is a beautiful representation of Romanian craftsmanship and cultural heritage.

The blouse (ie) features intricate hand-stitched vertical bands in black and gold thread. The wide sleeves have been manually adjusted using discreet hand-sewn tucks on the reverse side, which draw the fabric together between the embroidered bands. This technique, traditional to this region, creates a compact and elegant spacing between the decorative stripes. These stitches can be removed if desired, restoring the original fullness of the sleeves and increasing the distance between the bands.

The neckline measures 37 cm (14.5 in) — this is the narrowest point of the blouse, so please ensure this fits your measurements. While there is some interior wear around the neckline (not visible when worn), it does not detract from the blouse’s appearance and can be easily repaired if needed.

Fit:
Recommended for size M to M-L (EU 38–42 / US 8–12). The blouse is generously cut in the body but fitted at the neckline.

Condition:
Very good vintage condition — shows only normal signs of age. No rips or repairs. The aprons appear unworn, and the belt is brand new.
