Vintage traditional Romanian clothing from Oltenia

A magnificent vintage ensemble of traditional Romanian clothing, this splendid Romanian folk costume comprises two exquisite pieces: a hand-embroidered vintage dress and a pair of  handmade vintage aprons.

Hand crafted in the heart of Oltenia, South Romania, during the 1940s-1950s, this Romanian traditional dress embodies timeless craftsmanship. Intricately hand-embroidered on delicate, hand-woven fabric, it features vibrant multicolored cotton embroidery, all crafted with natural fibers. Sized M-L, its dimensions are as follows:

Length: 124 cm (48.8 inches)

Sleeve length from base of neck: 63 cm (24.8 inches)

Chest circumference: 128 cm (50.4 inches)

In remarkably good condition, this dress has been exceptionally preserved, showcasing the enduring beauty of Romanian traditional attire.

Complementing the dress are two beautifully handmade Romanian traditional aprons. Adorned with multicolored flowers against a dark cherry red backdrop, these summer-time aprons are meticulously crafted from cotton on cotton. Measuring 71 x 34 cm (28 inches x 13.38 inches), they are in very good condition, displaying only minor traces of wear, with no stains or tears detracting from their charm.
