Antique Romanian folk costume from Sibiu

Very old Romanian traditional costume from Sibiu consisting of three pieces: an old Romanian peasant  blouse with hand embroidered  stripes and a neck embellished with metallic thread, an original skirt, and a pair of black woolen  Romanian traditional aprons .

The Romanian  blouse is very old, with  handmade  stripes and the front half of the neck is stitched with metal thread. The original neck has only the front half sewn with metallic thread. The fabric of the blouse and skirt  is fine and typical of the Marginime region, with only the back of the blouse made of white home linen.

The size is approximately S-M ( EU 36, 38, maybe 40) with the following measurements:

Neck circumference: 32 cm (fastened with metal hooks)(12.6 " )

Chest circumference: 120 cm (47.24")

Sleeve circumference around shoulders: 64 cm (25.2 " )

Sleeve length from the neck: 63 cm (24.8 )

Blouse length: 50 cm (19.7 " )

Very wide sleeves.

Defects:at the back of the neck , the interior are worn. Please check the pictures; all the defects are shown in them. There is no wear on the exterior of the neck 

The blouse is faded, and the stripes on the chest have two different colors due to being made from different spools of thread.

On the right sleeve, towards the back and near the underarm area, there are two small repaired spots that look more like scratches than repairs. They are not visible when worn. Please refer to all the pictures for these defects.

The folk skirt is wide and original, without any defects.

It measures 76 cm at the waist and has a length of 69 cm.

The black aprons hand embroidered with silk thread  are defect-free, made of black wool and silk.

They measure 67 cm x 37 cm without tassels. They may be around 50 years old only , not as old as the rest of the costume .
