Vintage Romanian Traditional Costume with Handcrafted Folk Dress and Aprons

Splendid, vintage, handmade Romanian folk costume. This ensemble includes a traditional blouse-dress (ie), exquisitely crafted aprons, and a new belt. The costume fits sizes L or even XL (up to approximately 80-85 kg).

The  Romanian folk dress is meticulously handmade, embroidered with black thread on white fabric. The skirt section is entirely hand-stitched, with decorative white “cheite” stitches at the seams. The blouse’s upper section might be hand-embroidered or handwoven, though it's difficult to tell precisely; a close-up image is provided. The fabric is white and fine, likely commercial in origin.

Condition: The black embroidery has faded over time to a dark gray. The embroidery does not bleed when washed. There are also 3-4 faint blue lines (possibly ink marks) as shown in the last 2 photos. These lines are located on the lower back of the skirt section and are barely visible when worn, as they are covered by the aprons and concealed by the fullness of the dress.

Otherwise, the blouse is free of other defects, made from durable fabric, and comes to you clean and ready to wear.

Aprons: Handmade aprons crafted with white-yellow-blue silk on a black cotton background, beautifully bordered with handmade lace. The aprons have been dry-cleaned, though the white color has acquired a gentle patina from age, adding to their charm. Otherwise, they are in excellent condition.

Belt: A new black and white belt completes the ensemble.
