Traditional Romanian Folk Costume from Banat with Gold Embroidery and Sequins

Discover the timeless elegance of this traditional Banat folk costume, meticulously handcrafted on sheer voile with exquisite gold thread embroidery and black sequins. Drawing inspiration from Byzantine imperial garments, this stunning ensemble includes a hand-embroidered blouse (ie), matching skirt, and a velvet apron adorned with gold embroidery and beads. 

The transparent  Romanian blouse and skirt, both crafted from voile, feature intricate gold and black sequin embroidery, requiring a slip underneath. 

Sized S-M, the Romanian  blouse measures 110 cm (43.3 inches) around the chest, 51 cm (20 inches) sleeve length, and 55 cm (21.6 inches) in total length. 

The sleeve reaches the elbow and is worn tightened around the elbow with a drawstring.

The skirt, with an elastic waistband, is 68 cm (26.7 inches) long and 180 cm (70.8 inches) in circumference. 

The velvet apron measures 68 cm (26.7 inches) in length and 40 cm (15.7 inches) around the waist, with adjustable ties. 

In very good vintage condition, this unique piece captures the essence of Romanian craftsmanship and heritage, dating from the 1980s. Perfect for collectors and lovers of traditional attire!
