Handmade Romanian traditional costume from Oltenia

Handmade Romanian peasant costume from Oltenia consisting of 3 pieces : Romanian folk dress, Romanian traditional wool skirt and wool large belt .This costume will fit to size M and L  .

1.Very old traditional Romanian folk dress, in very good condition. It is a traditional dress from Oltenia, handmade more than 70-80 years ago. This peasant dress is hand-embroidered with burgundy-colored cotton thread on an organic canvas, hand-woven in the household from natural fibers: cotton and flax. Notable is the cloth  "with cinari" or with checks, the special cloth woven in white checks that we find on the more special traditional shirts, the Romanian blouses worn on special occasions. On this dress we have the cloth with checks used in the upper part of the dress .

Size L with the following dimensions:

shoulders: 43 cm ( 17 " )

from shoulder to under arm: 22 cm (8.66 " )

shoulder+sleeve length: 60 cm (23.6 )

circumference over the chest: 140 cm (55 " )

waist circumference: 134 cm (52.75 " )

dress length: 121 cm (47.63" )

Condition: wonderful, without defects, seems very little used.

It is completely made of organic materials.

2. Handwoven wool skirt, thick with wide pleats. The Romanian  wool folk skirt is a piece of traditional attire worn only on Sundays at church or on more special occasions such as weddings and baptisms. It is thicker, suitable for cold weather and has a satin ribbon around hems  that has been recently replaced. 

Waist, as pleated: 100 cm (39.4"), so you should have a waist circumference of less than 90 cm (35.4") for the skirt to fit nicely, slightly overlapping. 

Length: 70 cm (27.5").

Hem circumference: 3.2 m (126").

Condition : very good , cleaned , ready to be worn . It is a thick and heavy skirt , its weight is 2.5 kilograms 

3.Traditional Romanian wool belt hand-woven from cherry-black wool. It is a very thick and wide belt that is worn only with traditional thick wool skirts, winter skirts (valnice). It comes from the Mehedinti area.

2.4 m long (94 inches)

9 cm wide (3.5 inches)

It is wrapped around the waist, fixed with a needle and then tied over it the black wool rope from the photos.
