Hand-Embroidered Traditional Romanian Dress

This vintage Romanian folk dress is over 60 years old, showcasing dense, compact hand-embroidery in black cotton thread. The embroidery beautifully decorates the chest, sleeves, and hem, adding a touch of timeless elegance. The upper part of the dress is made from handwoven fabric, while the skirt is crafted from commercial cotton fabric.

The dress has been preserved in its original condition, with a gentle wash to refresh it. It is in good condition, with only a few minor repairs, the largest being on the back (as shown in the last photo). The black shade has gracefully faded over time, revealing a beautiful dark grey hue.

For care, wash in cold water and air-dry naturally in sunlight or wind, avoiding machine drying.
