Vintage Romanian folk costume from Apuseni

"Buciuman" folk costume from the Apuseni Mountains, an extremely rare and exquisite Romanian traditional costume in good condition despite its age.

This Romanian folk costume is handcrafted on fine cotton fabric with specific embroideries from the region, made with black cotton thread. The skirt is richly embroidered on the sides and along the hemline. The Romanian shirt sleeves are also very wide and decorated with 'pui' motifs above the elbows. They are gathered with fine elastic added later. 

The Romanian folk skirt is tied with laces around the waist.

The Romanian traditional shirt is adjustable with a cord around the neck. The crochet through which the neck lace passes is navy blue.

Costume condition: The Romanian blouse and skirt are in very good condition, without defects, showing normal signs of wear due to its age. There are no tears or patches.

The Romanian folk aprons are woven with two types of thread, more visibly on the back apron. No defects or holes. They have been washed before being photographed.

Costume size: L-XL possibly XXL.

The Romanian traditional blouse measures 60 cm in length, the sleeves are 66 cm long, and the chest circumference is 154 cm.

The skirt measures 81 cm in length and has a circumference of 240 cm.
