Handmade Romanian traditional clothing from Sibiu -Valcea

Handmade Romanian traditional costume from Sibiu-Valcea region consisting of 2 pieces : very rare Romanian traditional dress with cloth stripes and hand embroidery : " tree of life "  and pair of wool aprons hand embroidered with metallic thread . 

1.A true distinctive sign of the shepherds of the Carpathian Mountains, between the counties of Sibiu and Vâlcea, the folk costume of this area has a well-defined personality through the black and white contrast that the basic pieces present. The beauty and elegance of the folk costume of this area aroused the admiration of the intelligentsia, who adopted this costume as a national emblem at the beginning of the 20th century.

The dimensions of the traditional dress are:

length: 114 cm ( 44.88 " )

around the chest: 142 cm ( 56 " )

around the waist: 156 cm ( 61.4 " )

sleeve length from the neck: 55 cm (21.65 "). This is a sleeve up to the elbow or 3/4, depending on your height.

Sleeve cut size around the shoulder: 24 x 2 = 48 cm (18.89 ")

Good condition, clean and beautiful with normal signs of wear for a dress of this age (50-70 years). Black hand embroidery and applied cloth stripes are faded. This is normal for a dress of this age. This is a restored traditional dress: the neck is new, the old one was too tight and worn. Normal signs of wear. However, there are no patches or tears, the traditional dress has been washed and you receive it ready to wear.

2. Pair of Romanian folk aprons hand embroidered with metallic thread and silk thread on black wool background . The aprons are very old and very rare . Three small repairs so well done , please check last 2 photos for those details . Two out of  the three repairs are very very hard to be found . Overall they are in nice condition and are very valuable traditional aprons from Transylvania .
