Vintage handmade Romanian folk costume from Oltenia

Romanian folk costume , traditional Romanian outfit from Oltenia formed of 3 pieces : hand embroidered antique Romanian dress ,hand woven pleated traditional skirt vintage and a new traditional belt .

1.Very old traditional dress from southern Romania, Oltenia. It is hand embroidered on fine, thin, hand-woven fabric. It is also hand-assembled, like all very old traditional shirts.

Hand embroidery with red cotton thread arranged on the shoulders, cuffs, on either side of the bust, and around the chest opening (neckline).

It has a row of delicate black embroidery around the hem.

Age: over 80 years.

Condition: very good, without defects.

Size S-M for an average-height woman.

Dimensions:

Shoulders: 40 cm (15.74 inches)

Shoulder to underarm distance: 20 cm (7.87 inches)

Shoulder + sleeve length: 61 cm (24 inches)

Chest circumference: 118 cm (46.45 inches)

Waist circumference: 128 cm (50 inches)

Dress length: 111 cm (43.7 inches)

2.Romanian handmade ethnic skirt, hand woven with multicolored fine wool thread and cotton. The background is cherry red.

The traditional skirt  is pleated around the upper hem and it is adjustable with strings because it is an overlapping skirt. It also can be closed with a button and this way will fit to a waist circumference of 80 cm (31. 5 inches). You can move the button where you like on the waist line.

Measurement:

the maxim circumference around waist as it is pleated right now is 88 cm or 34. 64 inches . So the skirt will fit to any waist circumference less than 88 cm or 34. 64 inches.

the lower hem circumference is 3 meters or 118 inches

skirt length: 61 cm or 24 inches

Age of the skirt: 50 - 80 years

Condition: good condition showing minimum traces of the wear for its age. Slightly discolored due to irts age and sun exposure . No tear, stain or repair !! Never cleaned thought, those hand woven skirts must be dry clean only !!!
