Romanian traditional costume from Transylvania

Exquisite and highly aged traditional Romanian costume hailing from the folkloric region of Transylvania, Arad. This remarkable Romanian folk costume was handmade with a remarcable craftsmanship, with its composition crafted by hand using black cotton and delicate touches of green on a hand-woven canvas woven from hemp and linen.

A distinct feature of this costume is the lavish embellishment of gold sequins adorning the sleeves and neckline. These sequins signify the ceremonial significance of this costume, reserved for special occasions such as weddings and church festivities.

The costume features intricate compact embroidery on the sleeves, complemented by wide cuffs and delicate lace detailing around the neck. When worn as a complete ensemble, the skirt elegantly fastens at the front, concealed by aprons.
