Antique Romanian traditional costume from Transylvania consisting of two pieces: a handmade Romanian traditional dress and a new apron.
The Romanian dress is an antique piece adorned with intricate hand embroidery on homespun fabric and it is from Transylvania/Maramures county, specifically Chioar folkloric region. This antique Romanian dress boasts delicate blue cotton thread embroidery on flax/cotton or antique homespun fabric. Likely originating from the early 1900s, this Romanian dress is in excellent vintage condition with no tears, repairs, or noticeable stains and it is available in size M for a loose fit or L.

Closed on the shoulders with strings this Romanian traditional dress features beautiful openwork and blue hand embroideries around the cuffs and chest. The skirt, gathered around the waist, is embellished with similar embroideries along the lower hem, boasting a circumference of 240 cm (95 inches). Estimated age: 80-100 years.
The new folk apron from Transylvania is crafted from red flowered viscose, lined for a better fit. Faithfully modeled after older designs from Bihor, Arad, Oas, and Chioar-Codru, it is newly made and measures S-M. The waist circumference is 30 cm (11.8 inches), and the length is 66 cm (26 inches). Brand new.
