Vintage Romanian traditional clothing from Oltenia with hand embroidered Romanian dress

Romanian folk costume formed of 3 pieces : vintage completely handmade Romanian dress , vintage Romanian  wool skirt and hand woven old belt .

This beautiful traditional Romanian dress from Oltenia is hand-embroidered with violet cotton thread on a fine, handwoven cotton fabric. The traditional fabric was woven by hand in households decades ago. This homemade fabric is the finest and thinnest in Romania and was predominantly used in the southern region of Romania.

This long, everyday Romanian dress is in good condition, with only minor signs of wear and no repairs. It fastens with metal snaps on the chest and at the neck, which have been recently replaced. The old ones were rusted, and some rust can still be seen around the neck area on the inside of the blouse. The rust is not visible on the exterior of the dress.

The vintage traditional dress is size S or S-M with the following dimensions:

Shoulders: 35 cm (13.8")

Armhole circumference: 44 cm (17.3")

Dress length: 120 cm

Chest circumference: 120 cm (47.24")

Sleeve length: 49 cm (19.3")

The fabric is easy to clean in the washing machine using lukewarm water and without bleach or whitening agents.

Age : 60-80 yo

In modern times, this type of traditional dress can be worn as a house dress, beach dress, or nightgown because it is crafted solely from organically processed fibers in households.

2. Romanian folk skirt, a traditional handmade wool masterpiece which is part of the Romanian traditional clothing .This folk skirt is an overlapped skirt . It is pleated around waist .

Colors : vertical stripes in brown, green and purple wool thread with multicolored embroidered geometric pattern .

Measurements:

Maximum waist circumference, currently pleated at 70 cm or 27.56 inches. Thus, it comfortably fits waist measurements between 60-65 cm or 23.6 - 25.6 inches.

Lower hem circumference: 1.5  meters or 59 inches.

Skirt length: 73 cm or 28.74 inches.

With an age of 50-60 years, this skirt exudes a timeless appeal. It is in good condition, displaying expected signs of wear for its age. No breakages, visible stains, or repairs are present. It's important to note that these hand-woven skirts should only be dry cleaned.You will receive it already cleaned .
