Hand embroidered Romanian traditional costume for summer from Transylvania

This lightweight traditional Romanian summer costume originates from Transylvania. The costume includes a Romanian traditional blouse with a yoke, featuring intricate hand-embroidered cutwork on the yoke and short sleeves.

The wide skirt is also handmade with cutwork embroidery around the hem. The fabric is thin, white, and commercially sourced.

Armhole: 19 cm x 2 = 38 cm (7.5 inches x 2 = 15 inches)

Circumference just under the arm, where the yoke ends: approximately 96 cm (37.8 inches), then the blouse widens substantially.

Skirt:

Hem circumference: 230 cm (90.6 inches)

Elastic waistband with a very deep slit, which I would close with a stitch. Otherwise, the slit is placed under the apron and won't be visible.

Condition:

Good to very good. There are no tears or stains, but it shows signs of being over 50 years old.

Traditionally worn with a silk or velvet apron in front.
