Vintage Romanian traditional blouse with stripes from Sibiu

Romanian handmade traditional blouse adorned with captivating black hand embroidery and delicate cloth stripes. Crafted from fine cotton, this splendid Romanian folk blouse hails from the folkloric region of Transylvania, Sibiu.

Designed to fit size M, its measurements are : 

shirt length : 52 cm (20.5 " )

chest circumference : 130 cm (51 " )

and sleeve length  from neck to hem of 59 cm. (23.22 " )

The replaced neck is 62 cm in circumference ( 24.4 " )

The circumference of the sleeve where it is tighter : 24 cm ( 9.5 inches )

Dating back to the period between 1930 and 1950, this Romanian blouse carries with it a rich history and cultural significance.

Despite its age, this remarkable Romanian traditional handmade  blouse remains in  good condition with normal signs of wear for a traditional blouse of this age : the black embroidery is faded out and it is not uniformly faded out . This happen when the artisan used black thread from two different sources and each thread is differently discolored due to time and wash  .

On one of the sleeve we found some gray splash check last 2 photos for this detail .

Meticulously reconditioned, washed, and ready to wear, its replaced neck ensures longevity. While the black hand embroidery may show discoloration from age and repeated washing, it adds character and authenticity to this captivating piece of Romanian folk attire.
