Authentic Traditional Romanian Costume from Maramureș - 2-Piece Set

This exquisite vintage Romanian folk  ensemble includes a beautifully handcrafted Romanian blouse with an attached underskirt (poală) and a rich, full high-waisted skirt. As a special gift, you'll receive a pair of brand new, authentic hand-knitted socks, perfect for wearing with traditional "opinci "shoes.

Size: Medium (M) or Medium-Large (M-L), but please check the measurements for the best fit.

The Romanian blouse:

This long blouse, complete with an attached skirt, is hand-stitched on homespun linen.

It features intricate hand-embroidered details around the neckline and shoulders—these are not appliqué ribbons, but genuine hand embroidery typical of Maramureș costumes.

The shirt is in excellent condition, clean and ready to wear, with only minor signs of use. There is a small gray spot the size of a small coin on the left sleeve; a detailed photo can be provided.

Blouse Measurements:

Shoulder width: 13.8 inches (35 cm)

Sleeve opening around shoulder : 10.2 inches x 2 = 20.5 inches (26 cm x 2 = 52 cm) (It has been slightly widened to fit a size M)

Sleeve length ( including the shoulder and cuff): 24.8 inches (63 cm)

Cuff circumference: 6.7 inches (17 cm)

Bust (underarm to underarm): 24.8 inches (63 cm)

Total length: 40.9 inches (104 cm)

Skirt:

The high-waisted skirt is very full and made from a fabric that appears to contain wool, as there are a few small pinholes here and there.

It is exceptionally voluminous and stiffened with a vinyl lining, giving it a striking  bell shape.

The high waistband measures 2.8 inches (7 cm) in height with a maximum waist circumference of 38.6 inches (98 cm). The waist is adjustable, with buttons that can be moved along the waistband, allowing for a perfect fit.

As currently set, the skirt fits a waist of 25.2-25.6 inches (64-65 cm), but it can be adjusted up to 38.6 inches (98 cm) by moving the buttons.

Skirt length: 22.8 inches (58 cm) from below the waistband + 2.8 inches (7 cm) for the waistband.

Hem circumference: 165.4 inches (4.2 meters)

Condition: Very good, with 2-3 small pinholes.

Gift: Hand-knitted PNA lace socks, perfect for traditional opinci shoes.
