Antique Romanian traditional bed sheet with lace from Maramures

Traditional bed sheet from Transylvania 100% handwoven . Originating from Maramures, this remarkable textile is meticulously crafted on a traditional loom and it dates back over 50-80 years. Due to the narrow width of the loom, the bed sheet is skillfully assembled using three panels of handwoven fabric expertly sewn together. Adorning one side of the bed sheet is a delicate lace border, meticulously hand-crocheted using fine cotton lace.

The weaving technique employed in creating this textile is nothing short of extraordinary, resulting in captivating 3D pattern that adds a touch of elegance to its texture. In terms of condition, this piece is in very good shape, showcasing no repairs, noticeable stains, or holes. It has been lovingly used and preserved in a dowry chest for years.
