Traditional Romanian Costume from Salaj.

This is a very old, complete, and beautiful Romanian folk attire, ready to be worn or added to a collection. This Romanian traditional costume fits sizes S-M, but please check the measurements below. Despite its age of over 60-80 years, the costume is in very good condition, with no holes, patches, or repairs. It has been cleaned and is ready to be worn.

This rare and old Romanian peasant costume is suitable for museums and collectors. The apron is from the same region, featuring an old pattern, hand embroidered and hand pleated on black fabric.

The folk costume is hand-embroidered on handmade antique fabric with green, yellow, and burgundy cotton threads. The sleeves are voluminous with "chicks" over the elbow, ending with cuffs fastened with old glass buttons, and a ruffled border.

The tunic collar is decorated with white lace, similar to that on the cuffs.

The Romanian blouse has the following dimensions:

Armpit to armpit: 59 cm (23.22 inches)

Length: 55 cm (21.65 inches)

The skirt is 75 cm long (29.5 inches) with a circumference of 250 cm (98 inches). It is gathered at the waist with lacing and features decorative stitching in three colors.

The old apron "zadie cu bocori "  is hand pleated on black fabric. The embroidery at the waist is beautiful. It is in good condition, with some slight gray stains here and there. 

Overall, this is a very hard-to-find old Romanian traditional costume from Salaj, a beautiful representation of this area.
