Exquisite antique Saxon wool pleated cloak, dated from approximately 1900. A cherished component of the traditional Saxon attire, this remarkable piece held significance during grand ceremonies and Sunday services at the church. Recognized by its moniker, the "KRAUSEL MANTEL," the cloak is hand crafted from black wool, each pleat carefully handcrafted. The edges exude elegance, adorned with hand-embroidered black thread on lush black velvet trim. Internally, the cloak boasts intricate detailing in vibrant red fabric, while its external façade remains black.
Crafted as a universal-size cloak, it extends to a length of 99 cm (39 inches), with a base width measuring 45 cm (17.7 inches). Impeccably maintained, this cloak has undergone professional cleaning. While the passage of time has imbued it with a subtle patina, it stands free from any blemishes or repairs.
