Romanian folk costume from Banat - vintage Romanian traditional clothing

This is a stunning Romanian traditional costume from Banat, consisting of three pieces: a Romanian hand embroidered blouse, a folk skirt, and a black traditional apron. The hand embroidery on the Romanian folk blouse and skirt is done with silver thread/tinsel on a semi-sheer/see-through fabric made of organza/nylon. The skirt is further adorned with assorted handmade and machine embroidery on the lower hem. The black velvet front apron is decorated with beautiful green and silver hand and machine embroidery.

This traditional Romanian costume is dated around 1960 and comes from the beautiful region of Caras. Despite its age, the Romanian  blouse and skirt are in good condition with only traces of wear and tear and are clean and ready to be used. 

The size of the Romanian folk costume is likely XS, S or possibly M.

The Romanian  blouse has a length of 44 cm or 17.3 inches and is finished with a string around the lower hem. The measurement around the chest is 94 cm or 37 inches. The skirt measures 73 cm or 28.74 inches in length and has an elastic waistband. 

Overall, this traditional Romanian costume is a work of art and a beautiful representation of Romanian culture and craftsmanship.The silver hand embroidery is fabulous and specific to Banat folkloric region of Romania .
