Authentic Romanian Traditional Costume with Handcrafted Romanian Dress – Vintage 3-Piece Romanian Folk Attire

This stunning, authentic Romanian folk costume is a vintage, handcrafted set comprising three exquisite pieces: a traditional long Romanian folk blouse ( dress), a pair of aprons and a multi-colored belt. The costume fits sizes L to XL, suitable for individuals up to approximately 80-85 kg (176-187 lbs).

Traditional Romanian Blouse (Dress):

The blouse is handcrafted with black thread embroidery on fine white fabric, displaying a high level of traditional craftsmanship. The skirt portion of the dress is entirely hand-stitched, featuring intricate black embroidery and  with decorative “cheite” (loop stitching) in white along the seams. The top section may be either hand-stitched or woven; a detailed photo is provided to showcase its construction. The fabric is a fine, likely commercially sourced white material.

Condition:

The black embroidery has naturally faded to a dark gray over time but holds up well when washed. There are 3-4 faint blue lines (possibly ink marks) as shown in the last two photos. These marks are located on the lower back section of the skirt, discreetly hidden when the dress is worn due to the aprons and the dress’s voluminous silhouette. Aside from this, the Romanian traditional  blouse is in very good condition, made from durable fabric, and will arrive freshly cleaned and ready to wear.

Handmade Aprons (Catrinte):

The set includes two traditional aprons, handcrafted from fine burgundy cotton fabric with multicolored silk-thread embroidery. The aprons are clean and in excellent condition, adding vibrant color and authenticity to the ensemble.

Belt (Brau):

A new, multi-colored traditional belt completes this beautiful folk costume set.
