This is a very old traditional Romanian costume that was handmade in Transylvania, Bihor, most likely between 1930 and 1960. This Romanian traditional attire is made from hand-woven fabric that is thick and similar in texture to denim. It is beautifully embroidered with white cotton on the shoulders, cuffs, chest sleeves , neck and lower part of the skirt.
The Romanian traditional costume can fit sizes XS-S, and German sizes 34-36, possibly even 38. The neck measures 31 cm (12.2 inches) and can be adjusted with strings to fit larger necks. The circumference around the shoulder seam is 36 cm (14.17 inches), and the sleeve length from the neck is 60 cm (23.6 inches) with a frill of 7 cm ( 2.75 inches ) .
Around chest the Romanian traditional blouse is 67 cm ( 26.37 inches ) from arm pit to arm pit .
This Romanian blouse is 52 cm (20.4 inches) in length, and the skirt measures 74 cm (29 inches) in length with a high waist of about 10 cm (4 inches). The waist circumference is a maximum of 75 cm (29.5 inches), but it can be adjusted to fit smaller waists with some overlapping.
The Romanian folk skirt has a circumference of approximately 280 cm (110 inches) at the hem. The folk costume is in good to very good condition, with no noticeable flaws, and has been professionally reconditioned. Although it is wearable, it is also recommended for collectors or museums as a typical Bihor costume.
When worn as a Romanian traditional costume, the slit is usually placed in front and then covered with apron. The mannequin used for display has a waist of 61-63 cm (24-25 inches), and the skirt fits slightly loose.
