Traditional hand pleated apron from Transylvania , Kalotaszegi, Calata

This is a beautiful apron from the Kalotaszegi region /Calata folkloric region in Romanian, made from a fine and lightweight fabric suitable for summer wear. The fabric is black cotton with a pattern hand embroidered in black, white, and cream silk. It is hand-pleated like all  aprons from the area. The waistline pattern is also exquisitely sewn by hand. Notably,the traditional apron is made from four panels of fabric due to having three rows of vertical embroidery .

This pleated folk apron is of medium size, with the following dimensions:

waist circumference: 37 cm (14.56 inches ) plus the cords 

embroidery width at the waist: approximately 45-49 cm ( 17.7 inches -19.3 inches ) from left to right

length: 75 cm (29.5 inches )

It is flowing and elegant in design and is believed to be from the 70 s-80 s or older. It is in very good condition, with minor traces of wear . Dry cleaning is recommended for care.
