This is an antique Romanian stair rug , a narrow and long vintage kilim rug with floral design. This Romanian traditional rug is handmade using traditional wool and features a beautiful pattern that originates from Moldova. The rug is over 60 - 80 years old and is made from wool on a hemp foundation. The striking black background is adorned with multicolored flowers, making it a truly unique piece.
Measuring 3.9 meters by 0.67 meters (12.79 ft x 2.2 ft).
Despite its age, it is in nice and usable condition, which is incredibly rare to find in such an old wool textile. While the black color is slightly and unevenly discolored due to its age, the rug is generally in good condition, with only some thinning in areas and irregularities in the weave . A small leaf is repaired ( check photos for detail )
