Handmade old Croatian traditional costume from Transylvania - SLAVIC folk costume from Banat

This is a complete and incredibly rare Croatian folk costume from the Karasova region in Banat, Romania. The traditional costume consists of two pieces: a long, hand-embroidered dress and a black wool skirt. This set is a must-have for collectors or museums due to its extreme rarity.

The Croatian folk  dress is made from fine commercial cotton fabric, with delicate and intricate hand embroidery in white, green, blue, and brown thread. The low waist of the dress is pleated at the back, giving it a retro style. The dress is believed to have been handmade between 1950 and 1970, and it originates from the Banat region of Romania. The dress was worn by ethnic Croatians in this region.

The black wool skirt is a perfect match for the dress and adds to the unique and striking appearance of the costume.

This  folk costume from Romania  is in excellent condition, with no noticeable flaws. The embroidery is incredibly detailed, but the thread has slightly discolored due to the age of the dress. The upper part of the dress and the lower part of the dress may have been made at different times as they are slightly different. The collar around the neck is not as old as the dress, but this is typical for a costume of this age.

The traditional skirt is  handwoven in mainly black wool with green wool thread also. It is a rectangular entire piece which will be fixed around your waist with a needle and the belt.
