This antique Romanian headscarf is a genuine piece of cultural heritage, handwoven from raw silk thread known locally as borangic. Originating from Oltenia, this type of traditional veil was historically worn by married women in Oltenia, Muntenia, and Moldova.
Measuring approximately 235 x 52 cm (92.54 inches x 20.5 inches ) , it features fine horizontal silk stripes and a soft ivory-beige tone. The irregularities in the weave are natural signs of age (70–100 years) and give it authenticity and character. The scarf is clean, with no stains or tears, just gentle wear from time.
