Antique Romanian veil, cocoon silk veil, raw silk traditional veil , peasant scarf

Antique dated most probably 70 - 100 years ago, Romanian traditional veil , scarf. Hand woven with raw silk thread known in Romania as borangic. Fine silk stripes in weave.

It is part of the Romanian costume from Oltenia, Muntenia and Moldova and it is worn only by married women

Size: 260 cm x 43 cm

The veil  is in fair to good condition with the traces of the wear inherent for an item of this age. Many irregularities in weave due to the age and worn of the veil.

The color is white off, pale beige, ivory.

It is very beautiful striped veil of raw silk.
