This Romanian folk dress, available for purchase, is a truly rare masterpiece of Romanian culture. This traditional Romanian dress is hand-embroidered with black and multicolored cotton threads on white, traditionally handwoven cotton fabric. It originates from the Padureni folkloric region (Hunedoara) in Transylvania.
The symbol stitched on this garment is the Omega, which represents the beginning of all beginnings, symbolizing God.
Age: Approximately 50 - 70 years old.
Condition: Good, with signs of wear. The black embroidery has faded over time due to age and repeated washing. There are some faint gray stains here and there, not noticeable when the dress is worn.
Clean and ready to be worn.
This is a spectacular dress in good condition, extremely hard to find, and holds significant historical value. Size L - XL.
Size: L - XL. Please check the measurements:
Length: 136 cm or 53.54 inches.
Chest circumference: 150 cm or 59 inches.
Sleeve length from the base of the neck, including the frill: 82 cm or 32.2 inches.
Waist and hips circumference: 100 cm or 39.37 inches. Please pay attention to this measurement for XL size. The chest area is spacious and suitable for XL.
Clean and ready to be worn. It should be washed only with cold water and a mild detergent, as these items may bleed otherwise. I personally machine-washed the dress with cold water (20 degrees Celsius) and a bleach-free detergent before listing it. It is recommended to dry it on a sunny and windy day; automatic drying is not advised.
