Authentic Vintage Romanian Dress (Ie) from Sibiu-Valcea – Hand Embroidered with Metallic Thread and Sequins

This is an original, vintage Romanian dress (ie with poale) from the Sibiu-Valcea region, crafted with traditional hand embroidery using black thread and metallic accents. The blouse features applied bands (benzi) and intricate floral designs highlighted with metal sequins—most of which are still intact. A few sequins are missing, as visible in the photos.

The flowers were originally filled with metallic thread (interior embroidery), which has mostly faded due to age and repeated washing. However, traces of the original metallic work remain and testify to the blouse’s authentic craftsmanship and historical value.

The fabric is strong, soft, and not thinned out. Here and there, there are small, barely visible thread knots—likely delicate hand repairs. These subtle imperfections (estimated at 10–15 in total) have been documented in the last few images and do not affect wearability or appearance due to the richness of the embroidery.

The skirt (poale) is in excellent condition, with no visible flaws. The entire dress is clean and ready to wear.

Due to the noted imperfections and age-related wear, this item is offered at a reduced price compared to similar pieces featuring sequins and metallic embroidery in perfect condition.
