Vintage Romanian traditional dress with stripes from Sibiu

Splendid Romanian  handmade vintage dress  from Sibiu , Transylvania. Crafted with love and precision, this traditional piece showcases the rich cultural heritage of Romania. The black hand embroidery and applied black stripes add a touch of elegance to the fine hand-woven cotton canvas fabric.

This rare Romanian dress, adorned with stripes from Transylvania, is found in Carpathion Mountains in between Sibiu-Valcea folkloric regions . It has plenty of fabric around the chest for larger sizes so it is recommended for M-L and even L to XL sizes  .

With a dress length  of 108  cm (42.5 inches), chest circumference of 160 cm (63 inches), and sleeve length of 61 cm (24 inches), this timeless Romanian folk  dress will fit to L-XL sizes  .

Please note that this handmade dress, dated between 1940-1950, is in good condition with signs of wear. It has been reconditioned, washed, and is ready to be worn. However, the black hand embroidery and applied  stripes may show some discoloration due to age and repeated washing.

On the lower part of the skirt , near hem there are 2 tinny repairs , please check last photo fot this detail .
