Old Romanian traditional blouse from Transylvania, Sibiu, likely dating back to the 60s-80s. It features applied strips of black velvet and braided cord decorations on either side of the velvet strips.
There are hand embroideries on the sleeves and around the neckline. The sleeves end with antique lace. The lace on the left sleeve has been repaired here and there, but nicely done, without being noticeable.
The shirt has ample fabric around the chest but is small around the neck, so I recommend it for sizes S-M (EU 36-38, maximum 40).
Dimensions:
Neck: 33 cm ( 13 " )(closes with a button, and if you need 34 cm, you can replace the button closure with a lace, gaining an extra 1 cm).
Shirt length: 50 cm (19.7 " )
Sleeve length measured from the neck: 70 cm (27.55 " )
Chest circumference: 132 cm ( 52 " )
From shoulder to underarm: 26 cm ( 10.23 " )
Condition: good. The material is good, washes easily, and is durable. The traditional Romanian blouse comes washed and ready to wear, but there are a few gray stains here and there, which will surely clean over time. The shirt can be machine washed with a gentle detergent and dries quickly in the sun or wind. Shirts with applied strips tend to lose color if they stay too wet for too long. The only defect is that the lace on the left sleeve has been repaired here and there, but it is not visible when worn; the repairs are professional.
