Splendid traditional Romanian costume from Transylvania, specifically the Sicula/Arad region, with a rich history dating back many years. It is meticulously hand-embroidered with beautiful floral patterns and adorned with delicate lace around neck . The fabric is a combination of handwoven linen and hemp. This Romanian traditional costume consists of two pieces: a traditional Romanian blouse and a high-waisted folk skirt, both lavishly embroidered.The hand embroidery displayed on the skirt and blouse is not identical , is similar only .
The fitted cuffs fasten with strings, while the sleeves are voluminous. Here are the measurements for size S :

Despite its age, the Romanian blouse is in good condition with only one minor repair or defect of the fabric ( the fabric is handwoven in household fabric ) on the left sleeve , please , check last photo for this defect .
The folk skirt is gathered at the high waist and fastened at the back with strings. The waist circumference measures 77 cm (30.3 inches) as it is, but it is typically worn slightly overlapped. The length of the skirt, measured from the waist (excluding the high waist), is 59 cm (23.22 inches). The high waist has a height of 9 cm (3.54 inches). The hem circumference is 280 cm (110 inches).
Overall, this Romanian traditional costume is in good condition with minimal signs of wear beside the small defect on one of the sleeves . This is a magnificent costume suitable for museums, collectors, and its remarkable condition allows for approximately 50 more years of wear. Based on its characteristics, it is most likely dated from the 1940s to 1950s.
