This is a superb traditional Romanian costume from Transylvania, specifically the Bihor region, with a rich history dating back many years ago . This Romanian traditional attire contains 2 pieces : handmade Romanian folk shirt and splendid handmade folk skirt .
Very old traditional Romanian blouse handmade in Transylvania, Bihor. Most likely dated in 1930-1950.
It is hand embroidered with splendid blue hand embroideries on hand woven fabric. The fabric is thick, similar to denim.
Splendid hand embroideries on shoulders , collar and cuffs . Dark blue handmade lace decorate the collar and ruffles .
Fits size XS-S in European sizes ( 34-36 )

The folk skirt is gathered at the high waist and fastened at the back with strings. The waist circumference measures 71 cm (28 inches) as it is, but it is typically worn slightly overlapped. The length of the skirt, measured from the waist (excluding the high waist), is 77 cm (30 inches). The high waist has a height of 6 cm (2.36 inches). The hem circumference is 260 cm (100 inches).
Overall, this Romanian traditional costume is in good condition with minimal signs of wear. This is a magnificent Romanian costume suitable for museums, collectors, and its remarkable condition allows for approximately 50 more years of wear. Based on its characteristics, it is most likely dated from the 1940s to 1950s or older .
