Rare Romanian folk art collectible: an antique handwoven Easter towel (stergura) or small traditional tablecloth from the Codru region, Transylvania (Satu Mare). Made 40-50 years ago, this unique piece features exquisite raised Persian stitch embroidery, creating a plush, carpet-like texture similar to Persian rugs. At its center is the Sacred Heart of Jesus, with the phrases “Christ Is Risen” / “Truly He Is Risen” (Hristos a Înviat / Adevărat a Înviat) finely embroidered. Rich floral patterns and vibrant colors highlight its authentic Romanian heritage. Perfect for rustic decor, religious holidays, or folk art collections. Size: 74 cm (29 in) long without fringes, 14 cm (5.5 in) fringes, 42 cm (16.5 in) wide. Excellent condition.
