This is an authentic vintage catrinta (wrap skirt), part of the Romanian folk costume from the Banat region. The catrinta is handwoven from coarse black wool and enriched with silver lame thread woven into the fabric. Along the hem, the skirt features handmade edge decorations with traditional tooth-like (colti) stitching, showcasing the skill and artistry of folk craftsmanship.
The piece measures 177 cm (69.7 in) in length and 58.5 cm (23 in) in width. It dates back approximately 50-60 years and is in very good condition with no major flaws.
