Antique Romanian folk costume from Banat / Transylvania

Exquisite Romanian traditional costume, consisting of three remarkable pieces: an intricately hand-stitched antique Romanian dress, finely hand-woven wool aprons and a matching wool belt (please note that the belt shown in the photos has been sold, but you will receive a perfectly matching one).

Sizing-wise, the dress is estimated to fit sizes M or possibly S-M, but we strongly recommend verifying the measurements. 

The shoulder-to-shoulder measurement is 38 cm or 15 inches

 the underarm-to-underarm measurement is 54 cm or 21.25 inches

and the waist measures 112 cm or 44 inches. 

The dress boasts a length of 120 cm or 47.24 inches

with sleeve length from the shoulder measuring 52 cm or 20.47 inches.

This antique dress carries a remarkable history, dating back between 80 to 100 years, making it not only rare but also a valuable piece of the past. It's beautifully preserved in vintage condition, exhibiting only minor signs of wear and tear, with no need for repairs. The dress has substantial weight, approximately 2 kilos or 4 pounds, owing to the dense hand-loomed fabric that's as robust as denim, ensuring its longevity.

The pair of hand-woven Romanian traditional aprons, specifically from Banat, is a work of art in itself. Although not identical, they are designed to match each other harmoniously.

These aprons are versatile in size, with measurements of 66 cm or 27 cm wide (equivalent to 26 inches x 10.6 inches wide). They are in impeccable condition, free from any tears or stains and have been meticulously maintained over the years. Their age ranges between 60 to 90 years old.
