The Romanian folk costume from Banat, Transylvania, consists of 3 pieces: a handmade Romanian folk dress, a pair of traditional wool aprons, and a matching wool belt.

Vintage Romanian Folk Dress from Western Transylvania, in the BANAT folkloric region.

This traditional dress is fabulous and very rare! It features hand embroideries on the sleeves, chest, and around the lower hem of the skirt, done in green and brown cross-stitch.

The dress is hand-embroidered on handwoven cotton fabric made from organic fibers grown in households.

It will fit sizes M, M - L or possibly L, but please check the measurements.

Measurements of the dress:

Underarm to underarm: 61 cm or 24 inches

Around the waist: 118 cm or 46.45 inches

Length of the dress: 124 cm or 48.8 inches

Around the neck: 48 cm or 18.89 inches

Sleeve length from the base of the neck: 66 cm or 26 inches

Age: 40 - 60 years old (1960 - 1980)

Condition: In nice vintage condition with minor signs of wear. No tears or repairs. There are some pale gray stains here and there, one of which is captured in my photos. I believe these stains will be removed over time with washing.

The handmade fabric is as thick as denim.

Handwoven Romanian Traditional Aprons, a pair of wool aprons from Banat. They are handwoven mainly with burgundy wool thread. The front apron is wider than the back apron. They are not identical, which is common in Banat costumes. They are similar, matching aprons. Universal size.

Condition: Very good, with no tears or stains, clean.

Age: 60 - 90 years old.

An old matching belt. Not the one in the photos, which has already been sold.
