Vintage Traditional Romanian Costume from Arad – Handwoven Fabric with White Embroidery

This vintage traditional Romanian folk costume from Arad features a spacel (traditional embroidered shirt), a wide skirt, and a new red woven belt. Both the shirt and skirt are crafted from handwoven fabric with fine stripes known as cinari, commonly used for festive costumes.

The shirt showcases delicate white hand embroidery on the sleeves, cuffs, and shoulders, complemented by original vintage buttons. The original smaller gussets under the arms were replaced with larger ones, making the shirt wearable up to sizes 70–80 kg (Size M-L). The smallest measurement is the neck circumference.

The skirt is wide and features an elastic waist for a comfortable fit. Made from the same cinari fabric as the shirt, it includes exquisite beige hand embroidery along the hem and decorative hooks that join the fabric panels forming the skirt.
