This unique vintage Romanian folk costume from Banat, crafted in the 1970s-80s, includes three beautiful pieces: a hand-embroidered Romanian blouse (ie) on tulle, a silk skirt, and a velvet apron with beadwork. The costume was created during a time when young women's blouses began to feature embroidery on tulle fabric, adding a delicate, airy touch to traditional attire.
The blouse is a medium size (EU M) and is hand-sewn from lightweight, transparent tulle fabric, typical of the 1970s era in Romanian folk wear. It features intricate hand-embroidered patterns using black cotton thread, complemented by tubular golden beads. This classic design element adds a touch of elegance to the traditional Romanian blouse. The embroidery on the sleeves shows some natural fading compared to the chest area, likely due to the use of threads from different sources that have aged differently over time.
