A vintage, handmade traditional Romanian costume consisting of two pieces: a handmade traditional Romanian dress and a pair of handwoven wool aprons.

1. Stunning Traditional Dress or Folk Blouse from Southern Romania

This stunning traditional dress or folk blouse originates from southern Romania, near the Danube. Handmade between 1940 and 1950, this traditional Romanian blouse exemplifies the beauty of the region's folk attire. The blouse features intricate blue hand-embroidered cotton decorations that enhance the fine, thin, hand-woven fabric, adding to its timeless beauty.

Entirely handmade from natural, organic fibers produced within the household, this folk blouse carries the authenticity of traditional Romanian craftsmanship. The blouse is sized M-L, ideal for a medium-height woman, with the following dimensions:

Shoulders: 38 cm (15 inches)

Length: 114 cm (44.9 inches)

Sleeve length (from the base of the neck): 58 cm (22.8 inches)

Chest circumference: 140 cm (55.1 inches)

Remarkably well-preserved, this vintage blouse is in excellent condition. Each stitch tells a story, a connection to the past, and a celebration of traditional Romanian artistry that will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on all who see it.

2. Complementing this vintage Romanian dress are two handwoven wool aprons, equally impressive and in good condition, with slight signs of use that are normal for their age. These aprons, aged between 50 and 80 years, measure 37 cm x 77 cm (14.6 inches x 30.3 inches).

Besides being in very good condition, this traditional Romanian blouse is easy to maintain. It can be safely washed in a regular washing machine using lukewarm water, without bleach or harsh detergents. After washing, simply hang it to air dry, as the material retains its shape remarkably well. However, please note that the wool aprons require special care and should be dry-cleaned only.
