Vintage Romanian folk costume from Oltenia with rare skirt

Very rare traditional Romanian costume consisting of 3 pieces : Romanian traditional dress , vintage rare pleated folk skirt and a traditional  belt .

Wonderful traditional Romanian dress originating from  Oltenia . This folk dress is a true masterpiece, hand-embroidered with cotton thread on a finely crafted white cotton material, skillfully produced within households. The fabric boasts subtle vertical stripes, a characteristic feature of the hand woven fabric in Mehedinti, known as "panza cu cinari" in Romanian. This fine, special fabric is traditionally used for festive Romanian traditional attire, making this Romanian traditional  dress a true representation of Romanian craftsmanship and cultural heritage.

This Romanian folk  dress is in good condition, exhibiting only slight signs of wear, and there are no repairs or noticeable stains. It has been thoroughly cleaned and is ready to be worn. I took special care of it, washing it in a washing machine at 90 degrees Celsius to ensure it's fresh and pristine.

With an age of 50-60 years or more, this dress carries a rich history and stories of tradition. Its timeless design and craftsmanship make it a cherished piece for collectors and enthusiasts alike.

Rare Romanian traditional skirt . It is handwoven from  hemp and wool and it is hand pleated . Black background with horizontal multicolored stripes and vertical golden and silver fine stripes .

Length: 64 cm ( 25 inches )

around waist as it is pleated 76 cm (30 " ) so because it is an overlapped skirt , this will fit to a waist no more of 66 cm (26 " ) in circumference .

As it is, it will fit a maximum waist of 66 cm ( 26 inches ) For smaller waist circumferences, the skirt will be overlapped and fastened with strings or a pin .

At the lower edge, the circumference of this Romanian folk skirt is 3 meters ( 3 yds )
