Vintage Romanian traditional costume from Arges Muscel

 Handmade traditional clothing from Romania , Arges- Muscel folkloric region . It contain 2 pieces : hand woven Romanian folk dress and hand woven traditional skirt  . 

1 .Old Romanian traditional dress, lovingly handmade with black cotton and golden tinsel thread on hand-woven fabric. Dating back to the years 1940-1960, this dress carries the essence of a bygone era.

Because of its beauty the Muscel folk attire was declared a ceremonial attire by the kings of Romania, elevating its significance among the country's various traditional costumes.

Size M-L  , we recommend verifying the dimensions for a perfect fit:

Dress length: 132 cm or 52 inches

Sleeve length measured from the base of the neck: 67 cm or 26.37 inches

Chest circumference: 130 cm or 51 inches

This Romanian folk dress has only minor traces of wear with no tear or repair .

The black pattern may have slightly discolored with age, but its inherent beauty remains undiminished. Despite being worn, this traditional Romanian  dress displays no major defects beyond those mentioned above, attesting to its enduring quality and timeless allure.

2 .Romanian handmade ethnic skirt , traditional handwoven skirt  .This Romanian folk skirt is hand woven and hand embroidered with multicolored silk thread and golden tinsel thread . It is a rectangular entire piece which will be fixed around your waist with a needle and a belt .

Size: 138 cm x 70 cm or 54  x 27.5 inches ( size M )

Age: 50 - 60 years old.

Condition: good with  traces of the wear. The black background is slightly discolored due to the skirts age. The white silk thread is stained in many places with beige-brown stains . 

The old Romanian folk costume of the Arges region is even today an apparel of a remarkable beauty and decorative richness .
