Old traditional Romanian clothing from Arad , Transylvania size S

Very old Romanian folk costume from Transylvania, size 38–40 (possibly 42 depending on neck circumference and shoulder width) in European sizing (S–M). The set consists of 3 pieces: an old blouse with spectacular hand embroidery on the sleeves, a matching traditional skirt, and a black silk apron (zadie).

1. Traditional blouse (spacel)

Handmade on thick homespun fabric of linen, cotton, and hemp blend. The collar is decorated with crocheted lace.

The sleeves are gathered with cuffs tied with strings. The hand embroidery on the sleeves is spectacular.

• Age: 60–80 years or more.

• Size 38–40:

  • Neck: 33 cm (13 in)

  • Shoulder to shoulder: 35 cm (13.8 in)
    This is the smallest part of the blouse; if it fits here, the whole costume will be suitable.

  • Sleeve circumference at shoulder: 54 cm (21.3 in) – comfortable up to 70–80 kg

  • Sleeve length from shoulder: 55 cm (21.7 in) + 5 cm (2 in) cuff

  • Total shoulder + sleeve length: 66 cm (26 in) + 5 cm (2 in) cuff

  • Cuff closes with strings

  • Chest circumference: 134 cm (52.8 in)

  • Blouse length: 51 cm (20 in)

Condition: very good, clean, ready to wear despite being at least 60–80 years old.

2. Skirt (poala)

Old homespun fabric, similar to the blouse, with lace around the hem. Drawstring waist, adjustable. Universal size.

3. Silk apron (zadie)

Black silk, pleated, old and authentic, in good condition.
