Handmade Romanian folk costume with floral pattern

Old Romanian handmade folk  costume, in very good condition, consisting of 3 pieces: Romanian handmade folk dress , hand woven folk pleated skirt  and a traditiomal new belt.

1 .This traditional Romanian dress is a true masterpiece of Romanian craftsmanship, showcasing exquisite ornamental design and meticulous stitching. Created with great attention to detail, it is hand-embroidered using blue and burgundy threads, resulting in a stunning color combination. The sleeves are 1/2 , reaching the elbow, and adorned with a handmade crochet detail in the same shade of blue as the rest of the embroidery .

This beautiful garment belongs to the category of old  Romanian folk blouses from the Oltenia region, renowned for their rich tradition and exceptional craftsmanship. Every aspect of the dress, from the fabric used to the intricate stitches, is handmade within households, honoring the authenticity and ethnic heritage.

The age of this  Romanian dress is estimated to be between 50 and 80 years, adding a unique charm and a fascinating history to its allure. The size is available in L-XL-XXL, yet due to its airy and lightweight material, it can also be comfortably worn by individuals of size M. The delicacy of the fabric ensures a comfortable fit.

The dimensions of the dress are as follows:

Dress length: 122 cm (48 inches)

Chest circumference: 140 cm (55 inches)

Waist circumference: 142 cm (56 inches)

Sleeve length from neck to hem: 47 cm (18.5 inches)

Shoulder to underarm: 30 cm (11.8 inches), resulting in a total width of 60 cm (23.6 inches)

The neckline measures 50 cm (19.6 inches) and is secured with a metal hook.

The skirt of this Romanian dress features an elegant A-line shape. It boasts a beautiful row of hand-embroidery around hem, adding intricate detail and visual appeal. Additionally, there is a row of delicate handmade lace, enhancing the overall charm of the outfit.

This Romanian dress is in good condition, exhibiting minor signs of wear that attest to its age and authenticity. There is a slight yellow stain on the lower part of the skirt, located near the front bottom, which is barely noticeable when the dress is worn. The fabric used is of excellent quality, ensuring durability and resistance.

2. Romanian traditional pleated skirt with floral pattern. Decorated with old sequins. The ribbon on the edges is new. Black background with fine dark burgundy stripes and hand-stitched flowers. The pleats are fixed at the waist. As it is now pleated , the waist circumference  is 80 cm (31.5 " ), so it fits any waist circumference smaller than 80 cm( 31.5 " ) so that it overlaps a little. Pin it with a needle at the waist (add a button if you want) and then tighten it with the belt.

Length: 62 cm (24.4 inches )

Age: probably from the 70s-80s.

Condition: very good. Slightly discolored due to age and many of the sequins are missing. It has no other defects, it is clean.
