Vintage blue Romanian folk costume from Oltenia

Splendid traditional Romanian folk costume from Oltenia. It consists of 3 pieces, all of them vintage: a blouse with attached skirt (dress), a thin cotton and silk folk skirt ( valnic ) and an old wool belt.

Vintage traditional Romanian dress, entirely handmade: hand-embroidered on handwoven fabric in the household. Estimated age of 60-80 years. The blue pattern is hand embroidery.

The blouse originates from Oltenia.

It has a deep slit on the chest, to which snaps or buttons can be added if desired. It fastens at the neck with a metal snap.

Size L-XL, with the following measurements:

Shoulders: 44 cm (17.32")

From shoulder to underarm: 25 cm (9.84")

Shoulder + sleeve: 50 cm (19.7")

Chest circumference: 128 cm (50.39")

Waist: 130 cm (51.18")

Length: 123 cm (48.42")

Condition: Good, with normal wear for a dress of this age, without notable defects such as holes or patches.

2.Vintage Oltenian traditional pleated skirt, made of cotton and silk. Handwoven with blue, brown and green stripes and golden thread accents on a black background of cotton and silk.

It is a larger-sized  Romanian traditional skirt. It is  hand pleated at the waist, and the pleats are secured with strings. As it is an overlapped skirt, it fits multiple sizes. The waist measurement is 103 cm (40.55"), suitable for any waist size smaller than that to allow for some overlap.

The hem circumference is 370 cm (146").

Length: 68 cm (26.77").

It is fastened at the waist with a pin and then tightened with the belt.

3 . Handwoven wool belt. It is narrow and very long, allowing it to be wrapped multiple times around the waist.
