Antique Romanian folk wool aprons - pair of traditional aprons from Romania

Exquisite handwoven traditional Romanian aprons made of wool from Oltenia. These traditional aprons showcase skilled craftsmanship, with the predominantly burgundy wool thread being intricately handwoven and the multicolored thread being hand-stitched. The front apron features horizontal stripes, while the back apron has vertical stripes, both being thick and woolen, suitable for wintertime wear.

These aprons come in a universal size and measure 66 cm x 32 cm (26 inches x 12.6 inches) for the back apron and 66 cm x 43 cm (26 inches x 17 inches) for the front apron. They are in excellent condition with no tears or stains, and are clean. Although some of the sewn metallic sequins are missing, they add to the beauty and uniqueness of these aprons. The black borders are newly added, replacing the old ones that were in poor condition.

These aprons are estimated to be between 60 to 90 years old and are a testament to the rich cultural heritage of Romania.
