Vintage Hungarian traditional costume from Transylvania/Gheorghieni, dating from 1960 to 1980. This Hungarian folk costume comprises three distinct pieces: a skirt, an apron, and a hand-embroidered folk shirt.

A splendid example of a Hungarian peasant costume, particularly rare in this size.

The Hungarian blouse features intricate hand stitching using black cotton thread on a white commercial cotton fabric. The craftsmanship is particularly noteworthy around the neck, with hand stitches adorning the tunic collar, neckline, sleeves, and cuffs.

Approximately sized as M/L or large, the dimensions are as follows:

Under armpit to under armpit: 75 cm or 29.5 inches

Around the neck: 45 cm or 17.7 inches + the strings

Around cuffs: 19 cm or 7.48 inches + the strings

Blouse length: 57 cm or 22.44 inches

Sleeve length measured from the base of the neck, including the cuffs: 63 cm or 24.8 inches

These measurements are taken with the blouse lying flat.

Condition: Good, with two tiny repairs on the blouse near the lower hem. These repairs will be discreetly covered by the skirt. The black hand embroidery has experienced slight discoloration.

The skirt is black with tiny dots and bordered with red fabric around the lower hem.

Skirt length: 74 cm or 29.13 inches

The apron is crafted from lightweight cotton, featuring a vibrant red hue with Hungarian ribbon and lace accents.

The apron length is 73 cm or 28.74 inches.

Condition: Good to very good, exhibiting normal signs of wear expected for an item of this age. No noticeable stains or repairs.
