This traditional Hungarian skirt from Kalotaszeg, Transylvania, is a vintage piece originating from the 1960s. It is meticulously hand-pleated in the traditional style using a cotton fabric that resembles taffeta or a lighter-weight denim. The color combination of the skirt includes shades of gray, blue, and black.
The traditional skirt features an overlapping design, allowing it to be worn as a standalone piece or as part of a complete traditional costume. When worn as part of a traditional costume, it is customary to cover the front of the skirt with an apron. However, it can also be worn independently as a regular skirt.
The size of the skirt is M-L, and it is recommended to check the following measurements:
Waist: 90 cm (35.4 inches), suitable for a waist circumference smaller than 85 cm (33 inches)
Length: 70 cm (27.55 inches)
Hem circumference: 350 cm (137 inches)
The Hungarian folk skirt is in very good condition, with minimal signs of wear.
