Vintage folk shirt worn by the Hungarians from the Kalotaszeg region in Transylvania. The shirt is hand embroidered with a special black wool, dyed in blue on the tunic collar and cuffs. The sleeves are puffed, fastened with a cord above the elbow, and hand pleated. The shirt is dyed in a pale blue shade within the household. It is a characteristic of certain villages in Kalotaszeg where the residents, in order to distinguish themselves from the inhabitants of neighboring villages, would dye their shirts blue. That's why the shirt is now a pale blue, like the clear summer sky, while the black embroidery on the collar and cuffs has a bluish tint. There are sections of embroidery that have retained their original color, unaffected by the dye. This is the only flaw I found in this traditional shirt.
The shirt was likely made after the 1960s-1970s, as it has a looser cut compared to the extremely old ones.
Size M or M-L with the following measurements:
Neck circumference: 31 cm (12.2 inches)
Cuff circumference: 24 cm or 9.44 inches
Shirt length: 56 cm or 22 inches
Chest circumference: 160 cm or 63 inches
Shoulder to underarm distance: 24 cm (9.44 inches)
Condition: Good, with signs of wear. No holes, repairs, or patches. The embroidery is unevenly dyed in blue-black or unevenly faded. You will receive this shirt washed and ready to wear. The sleeve pleats will be preserved during washing, so there's no need to iron them. However, the shirt should be washed separately from other clothes.
