Romanian traditional blouse with white hand embroidery from Banat

This is a Romanian traditional  blouse or old men's shirt, known as an "ie," handmade in the Banat region. Its beautiful white silk embroidery is arranged on the chest, cuffs and collar, creating an impressive pattern. The fabric of the traditional shirt is made from hand-woven cotton and linen.

This Romanian folk shirt is designed for a man with a size S or for a woman as a dress (size M for women) with the following measurements:

a neck circumference of 38 cm (15 inches),

a length of 109 cm (43 inches),

and shoulders measuring 38 cm (15 inches).

The sleeve length is 70 cm (27.5 inches), including the cuff.

This authentic old Romanian blouse has a circumference of 120 cm (47 inches) just under the armpits and a waist circumference of 130 cm (51 inches).

The distance from the shoulder to the armpit is 24 cm (9.5 inches). The folk shirt is in good condition, with only minor signs of wear that are expected from a handmade traditional piece of this age.

The Banat shirt is estimated to be at least 40 to 50 years old or possibly older. It is a fantastic piece of Romanian folk art that showcases the traditional clothing style of Transylvania.
